As part of the Focus on Impact project, we launched a series of conversations to explore the needs of those committed to sustainability, learn some good practices and lay the foundations for a diverse community. We spoke to professionals with significant national and international experience in sustainability, who, although coming from different backgrounds, have been involved in making the economy and society more sustainable for years, in corporate, funding, grant, ecosystem building or civic/social entrepreneurial roles.
The discussions confirmed that there are many gaps in the area of sustainability and social/environmental impact generation that we face in our daily work. One of the most important of these was the lack of community, which is a barrier to new collaborations, new tools and methods, new good practices and a common language across sectors.
The map shows an ecosystem that gathers like-minded people, depicting good practices, methods and tools that are already working and could be launched in the future. The system also includes those who are currently less effective or efficient in social, environmental and economic value creation processes, or who are excluded from local, regional, national and international networks, although their mission would place them there.
